Grants in Action: WMS Public Speaking Program
Congratulations to over 70 students who participated in this year's Woodstock Middle School Public Speaking Competition, a program made possible by a grant funded by the Woodstock Education Foundation. Four times this year, students in grades 5-8 prepared pieces and competed in one of six categories: Impromptu, Storytelling, Poetry, Persuasive, Expository, and Dramatic and Humorous.
Thank you to Mrs. O'Hara and Mrs. Couture for their dedication and commitment to these students all year! We'd also like to thank our judges, 21 committed high school students from The Woodstock Academy for their hours of volunteerism with these students twice a week, and Sara Dziedzic for organizing the student-judge panel.
